The oldest bees in the world.

The Meliponi bees first appeared on Earth more than 100 million years ago, in the middle of the Cretaceous period with the propagation of flowering plants. Our common bee of the apis genus came into being much later, around 45 million years ago.
In nature, the Meliponi bees often live in a tree trunk, like their cousins the honey bees, or below ground and they will go looking for a habitat to found a new colony. For most bees, that's swarming....
